Telecities Seminar
The initiative will be the first East-West Telecities Seminar organised in
connection with the Union of Towns and Communities of the Czech Republic and the Office
for the State Information System in Hradec Kralove.
The seminar, the first Telecities seminar of the millennium, will focus on the
subject of Internet in Public Administration. A special session on the Global Cities
Dialogue will be organised for the signature of the Declaration from Mayors of main Cities
from East Europe.
The event includes three main parts:
- The signature of the Global Cities Dialogue' declaration;
- A conference on "Internet in Public Administration";
- Working Groups, including an information and brokerage session for participation
to the IST programme of the European Commission;

SIGNATURE CEREMONY: at least 10 Mayors from main East
Europe Cities will sign the declaration of the Global Cities Dialogue.
The signature of the declaration has been launched in Helsinki during the IST Conference
by the Lord Mayor of Helsinki and up to now more than 20 cities from all over the world
have subscribed the declaration.
The Ceremony will see the presence of political representatives from Telecities
(President: Mrs. Mariella Gramaglia, city of Rome, Mr. Bruno Peters, city of Antwerpen,
and others) and of the senior representatives of the European Commission (Mr. Jorg Wenzel,
Chief Executive ISAC, EC); |
