News ArchiveLORIS Conference Guidebook06/14/2007 Evaluation and responses 200705/03/2007 The conference LORIS 2007 contributed to further development of twinning collaboration between European towns04/05/2007, Česky The international conference LORIS (Local and Regional Information Society), which was held concurrently with the ISSS conference (Internet in Public Administration and Self-government) in the Congress Centre Aldis in Hradec Králové, significantly contributed to further development of mutual collaboration between European towns. There met deputies of more than two tens of towns here. They exchanged experience, formed new contacts and discussed about development of e-government at the local and regional level, as well as about use of EU sources for further enhancement of collaboration at the level of towns or development of e-tourism. The main organizer of the conference was Vysočina Region and financing was shared by the European Commission within the programme TT on the grounds of a call for "Support of active European citizenship" of Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission. The Czech Republic was represented among the participating towns and regions for example by capital Prague, towns Jihlava, České Budějovice, Hradec Králové, Karviná, Litovel, Nový Jičín, Znojmo or Otrokovice. Among partner European towns there were of course present Slovakian capital Bratislava and towns Nitra, Moldava nad Bodvou, Banská Bystrica, Dubnica nad Váhom, Kremnica, Martin, Nová Dubnica, Púchov and Trenčín, Hungarian towns Budapešť, Encs, Karcag, Nyiregyháza, Polish towns Warsaw, Walbrzych, Wroclaw, Lithuanian Vilnius or Dutch Purmerend. EISCO 200701/23/2007 European Information Society Conference, April, 16--18, 2007 Hämeenlinna, Finland Slovakian Golden Crest 200601/18/2007, Česky In Slovakia a traditional competition Slovakian Golden Crest has known its winner already since November 2006. The main aim of this competition is to support informisation of Slovakian self-governments and award exceptional projects, to support exchange of experience and evaluate the effort to use ICT technology effectively to increase quality and availability of services for the citizens. The main prize Dexia GrandPrix was awarded to the Web pages of the town Dubnica nad Vahom and they were also nominated to the international competition EuroCrest, results of which will be officially announced at the conference ISSS 2007 in Hradec Kralove. The winner of the category "Web of the town" is Bratislava, in the category "Web of the village" the first place was taken by the Web pages of Krivosud-Bodovka village and the laurels from the category "Web of the self-governing region" were taken by the Web pages of Zilina region. International conference LORIS 200701/17/2007 Within the anniversary 10th year of a prestigious conference Internet in Public Administration and Self-government that takes place in the days of 2--3 April 2007 in the Aldis Congress Centre in Hradec Kralove, there will be held another year of the international conference LORIS (Local and Regional Information Society), whose main organizer is Vysocina Region and which is co-financed by the European Commission within TT programme. There will meet deputies of twinning towns of European initiative i2010 here (European Information Society for growth and employment), which further develops the so called Lisbon strategy. The key themes of a two-day programme will not lack discussions about development of e-government on the local and regional level, using resources of the EU for development of some ICT projects, town-twinning and networking or development of e-tourism. The conference will also significantly contribute to elaboration of cooperation of partner towns and regions of the whole Europe, to which there belongs the capital Prague, the city of Hradec Kralove or Vysocina Region.
