Congress Centre ALDIS, Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic
The Conference V4DIS is a traditional part of a long-term project that was established in 2004 and that aims at use of information and communication technologies in the state administration and self-governments of V4 countries, at development of modern electronic services for the citizens, exchange of experience and presentation of chosen projects. This year similarly as in the previous years the Conference was supported by the International Visegrád Fund (IVF). Same as in the past the personal auspices of the Conference V4DIS was granted by Přemysl Sobotka, the 1st Vice President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, who as usual pointed out how close for him the cooperation and exchange of experience between neighbouring countries with similar economy, historical development as well as with a number of common problems was. Comparison of the development of V4 countries as well as examples of successful projects were of course interesting also for representatives from a number of ministries, public authorities as well as self-governments that took part in the national Conference ISSS. “We are pleased that the conference V4DIS has been for a number of years a traditional part of the national conference in Hradec Králové, but on the other hand it also means a considerable obligation,” says RNDr. Tomáš Renčín, executive director of the Conference ISSS/LORIS/V4DIS. “I believe that also in the following years we will continue in our activities with the cooperation with the International Visegrád Fund and that we will contribute at least partially to the further development of information society in this part of Europe.” Among the main topics of the Conference this year there were again first of all projects from the area of e-tourism, issues concerning further development of crossborder cooperation, experience from implementation of modern technologies in the wide spectrum of fields connected with public administration and samples of best practices. Přemysl Sobotka, the 1st Vice President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic handed over memorial certificates to the awarded participants of the competition JuniorCrest aimed at the activities of young talented people in the V4 countries who take an active part in the administration of public matters. There is also an international or more precisely Visegrád proportion to the competition EuroCrest–an award for the Web pages was this year taken over by representatives of three towns from the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. |
