The Conference V4DIS 2011 belongs to the past

Similarly as in the previous years the auspices of the Conference V4DIS 2011 was granted by Přemysl Sobotka, the first vice-president of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, who regularly points out that "similar events prove confidently that regional cooperation and exchange of experience really matter especially if it concerns neighbouring countries with similar economy, historical development as well as with a number of common problems."

"At present we are trying to continue with searching and developing activities that help bring together people in the whole region," says Petr Vágner, director of the International Visegrad Fund. "The Conference V4DIS presents one of the opportunities that fulfils this objective in the area of public administration and in sharing experience with implementation of modern services for the citizens of V4 countries."

It is exactly that support of exchange of experience in the area of development of e-government and relating areas such as for example e-tourism, which is the main objective of the V4DIS conference. "Thanks to the support of the International Visegrad Fund this working meeting of representatives of public administration of V4 countries has successfully evolved in the recent years into a stable working platform," says Tomáš Renčín, executive director of the Conference. "I believe that this year conference has once again contributed to a further development of information society at the local as well as regional level same as to enhancing cooperation between towns and regions in the V4 countries."

Among the main topics there as usual did not lack projects from the area of e-tourism, issues concerning further development of crossborder cooperation, experience from implementation of modern technologies in the broader spectre of areas related to the public administration and examples of best practices. This year there has been presented also an issue of e-inclusion and topics related to the barrier free access to portals and Web pages.

The programme of the V4DIS 2011 Conference also included a hand over of the awards to the winners of the Contest JuniorErb (JuniorCrest) for young creators of internet projects from the area of public administration and the contestants got an opportunity to present their projects within the Project Laboratory. The award within the Contest EuroCrest was taken over by the representatives of the town Hranice (ČR), of the Slovak Bratislava and of the Polish Poznaň.
